The Series II Deep Discount Bonds of our Nigam issued during 1996 was due for payment on maturity on 17.06.2006 ( on completion of 10 years ). As per the terms of the issue, redemption of bond amount can be made only against surrender of the original Letter of Allotment (LOA) or the original Bond Certificate (BC). Almost all the Allottees / Bondholders have surrendered their original LOAs / BCs and taken the refund of the bond amount. Now, as per the information provided by the R&TA service provider, there are about 6400 bondholders yet to surrender their original LOA / BC ( out of 167657 original Allottees / Bondholders ). We have been publishing the status of redemption and requesting the unclaimed bondholders to surrender their original LOA / BC for redemption purpose, right from the date of maturity, i.e., 17.06.2006 upto this date. We have also posted this information on our website www.kbjnl.com. But we find, still there are about 6400 deep discount bondholders yet to respond in surrendering the original LOA / BC for redemption purpose.
