Irrigation Area - 57,100 ha

The canal contemplates
to provide irrigation to Shahapur & Jewargi Taluks of
Gulbarga District. The work on entire main canal upto
Km. 86.36 and 168 CD works are completed. Distributary
No.1 to 18 are fully completed. Water has been let out
in all the Distributaries.

D. NARAYANPUR RIGHT
BANK CANAL -
Main Canal - Length - KM 95.00
Irrigation Area - 84,000 ha. |
The NRBC canal contemplates irrigation to Lingasugur
& Deodurga Taluks of Raichur District. The entire length
of 95 Kms of main canal including 195 CD works are completed.
All the Distributaries No.1 to 18 are completed. Certain
balance works of Branch Distributary, Laterals on Distributary
No.15, 16 & 18 are in progress. Water is let out in
main canal & Distributary 1 to 18.

E. ALMATTI LEFT BANK
CANAL -
Main canal - Length - KM 93.115
Irrigation Area - 20,235 ha. |
ALBC LI scheme contemplates irrigation to Muddebihal
& Basavana Bagewadi Taluks of Bijapur District. The
headwork is completed. Main Canal works from Km. 0.00
to 67.00 completed. Works from Km. 67.00 to 85.00 except
Km.72 are almost completed. Among 43 Distributaries,
Distributary No. 1 to 28 are completed and Distributary
29 to 40, the works are also almost completed except
Distributary No.29.

F. ALMATTI RIGHT BANK CANAL -
Main canal - Length - KM 67.50
Irrigation Area - 9,900 ha.

ARBC LI scheme contemplates irrigation to Hungund &
Bagalkot Taluks of Bagalkot District. The headwork and
jackwell structure are completed. The entire length
of main canal from Km. 0.00 to 67.00 completed. Distributaries
1 to 24 completed. Water is let out in main canal &
Distributary No.1 to 24.

G. MULWAD LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME -
Main Canal - Length - KM 107.40
Irrigation Area - 30,850 ha.

Mulwad LI scheme contemplates irrigation to Basavana
Bagewadi Taluk of Bijapur District & Jamakhandi Taluk
of Bagalkot District. Headworks and lead off canal completed.
The entire length of East canal upto 17.40 Kms. completed.
Distributaries, No. 1 to 6 are completed. Tender invited
for extension of Distributary No.6
West Canal from Km.0.00 to 78.00 is completed. 1 to
43 Distributaries are completed. Water is let out under
East Canal, West Canal and Distributaries thereunder.

H. RAMPUR LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME-
Main canal - Length - KM 37.50
Irrigation Area - 20,235 ha.

The Rampur LI Scheme contemplates irrigation to Lingasugur
Taluk of Raichur District. First head work at Navali
and second head work near Anahosur completed. 14 Km.
length of lead off channel is completed. The entire
length of East Branch Canal from Km. 0 to 20 and West
Distributary from Km. 0 to 26.14 are completed. The
distributary network including laterals & Field Irrigation
Canals under lead off channel, East Branch Canal and
West distributary are completed & water let out for
irrigation.

I. INDI LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME -
Main Canal - Length - KM 97.30
Irrigation Area - 41,900 ha.

The Indi LI scheme contemplates irrigation to Shorapur
Taluk of Gulbarga District & Sindagi Taluk of Bijapur
District. The construction of Head work including pumping
machinery completed & commissioned. Entire main canal
work from Km 0.00 to 97.30 completed. Distributary No.1
to 40 are completed except Distributary No.22. Balance
works on Distributary No.22 is in progress. Water has
been let out under completed Distributary network.

2. OTHER PROJECTS UNDER KRISHNA
BASIN
|
|
A. Ramthal (Marol) Lift Irrigation Scheme
|
This
LI Scheme contemplates providing of irrigation facilities
to Hungund Taluk of Bagalkot district for 26,200 hectare
by utilising 5.84 TMC of water. The location of the first
jackwell is on the backwater of Narayanapur reservoir,
near Marol village. The work for construction of intake
channel, jackwell, pumping machinery, raising main, delivery
chamber, etc. for first Head Work awarded on turnkey basis
completed. Km. 0 to 8 of 1st Stage West Main Canal work
is nearing completion. Further earth work of 1st stage
West Main Canal Km.8.00 to 21.00 is under progress. Work
on Distry. No.1 to 6 ( except Dy.No.4) are in progress.
Tender invited for Distry. No.4. The Second head work
awarded on turn key basis, is in advance stage of progress.
The work of 110 KV transmission line is completed. |

Teggi-Siddapur Lift Irrigation Scheme |
This
LI scheme envisages utilization of 1.20 TMC of water (0.90
TMC under scheme 'A') from the backwater of Almatti reservoir
to provide irrigation to 3,000 hectare of Bilagi taluk
of Bagalkot district. Tender for electromechanical works
including balance work of Jackwell on turn key basis was
approved by KBJNL Board subject to certain conditions.
Works of Main Canal from Km.0.00 to 12.18 in two packages
are under progress. |
C.Thimmapur
Lift Irrigation Scheme
(ARBC Stage-II) |
This
LI scheme takes off from Km.4.92 of ARBC. The scheme contemplates
providing irrigation to 20,100 hectare in Hungund taluk
of Bagalkot district. The work of construction of intake
channel, jackwell, pumping machinery, raising main, delivery
chamber etc. awarded on turnkey basis is almost completed.
Works of Main Canal Km.0.00 to 10.00 from Delivery Chamber-1
awarded in two packages are under progress. The tender
for main canal from Km.0.00 to 5.00 of DC-2 invited and
is in process. Terminal bay work for power supply to Head
Work is in progress. |

Sonna LI Schemes |
This
LI schemes envisage utilization of total 0.233 TMC of
water from the backwater of Almatti reservoir to provide
irrigation to 1,055 hectare lands of Bilagi taluk. The
construction of jackwell, intake channel provide pumping
machinery etc., awarded on turnkey basis completed. Package
work of entire canal network is nearing completion. |
E. Rolli - Mannikeri LI Schemes |
This
LI scheme envisage utilization of total 0.73 TMC of water
in the backwater of Almatti reservoir to provide irrigation
to 2,350 hectare lands of Bilagi Taluk. Tender for construction
of jackwell work, providing pumping machinery etc., on
turn key basis is approved in KBJNL Board meeting subject
to certain conditions. |

Sonthi Barrage - Lift Irrigation Scheme |
Government
has accorded administrative approval to the modified Sonthi
Barrage/ LI Scheme at a cost of Rs.188.00 crores. The
scheme contemplates providing irrigation for 16,000 ha
by utilizing 4 TMC of water. Civil work of barrage as
per original scope and the modified scope completed. Erection
of all 37 vertical gates completed. For lifting system,
the excavation for Delivery Chamber and jackwell cum pump
house completed. RCC raft foundation for jackwell is in
progress. M.S.Pipe rising main is laid for about 3.40
Km. Out of 3000 Mtr length of intake canal, excavation
for 1250 mtr length is completed. Sump model studies for
pumping machineries conducted. Construction of Feeder
Canal Km. 0.00 to 1.75 commenced. Power Transmission Line
work for Head work awarded recently. |

4. BARRAGE ON RIVER KRISHNA
Gugal Barrage
|
The barrage work is taken up across river Krishna near
Gugal village of Deodurga Taluk. Civil work of Bridge-cum-Barrage
is completed. In the work of providing 69 vertical gates,
fabrication of 67 gates completed. Erection of 43 sets
of embedded parts are completed. |

5. BARRAGE ON RIVER MANJRA
A. Jirgihal Barrage
B. Manikeshwar Barrage
C. Halhalli Barrage
D. Chandapur Barrage
|
It is envisaged to utilize 4.80 TMC of water by constructing
4 barrages across river Manjra of Godavari basin in
Bidar district. Excavation for foundation completed.
Laying of rafts and concreting of Piers in progress.
Fabrication & erection of embedded parts for all four
barrages are in progress. Chandapur Barrage work is
in advance stage of completion.
